*SciFi Movie Review
Let me state, for the record, I am not a gamer. I know nothing of the Halo games and franchise, other than when the soldiers are in their uniform, it's SICK! Unfortunately, the movie was not. My experience in the adventure was a bit of a disappointment.
The movie stemmed from a war between humans(?) and The Covenant. Though the movie takes place during a tentative time of peace, they're plotting against the people on Sedra. A biological attack from Sengheili terrorists. To ensure no one else is attacked in such a manner, Locke's command is sent to the planet where the weapon originated. There they learn not all soldiers are true to the cause. They also find, at nightfall, there's a swarm of intelligent, worm-like beings that will shred you to pieces if you've got any sort of EM activity. Oh, and they've got to get off the planet before the sun rises, because the temp rises to like, 900°!
I don't want to be mean, because Halo is a major game, played on all systems. Mostly guys, but lots of girls swear by this game and know it more than their own lineage! As I've stated, I'm not a gamer. I'm one of those people who thinks video games look so cool, I could easily watch it like a regular television show. I used to buy games so my son could play it, while I watch. Yes, I'm a watcher...
Halo: Nightfall was entertaining, but very predictable. I found myself stating the obvious, and later watching it happen, just as I'd figured I don't like that. The FX weren't bad, but it wasn't enough. I don't think this went to the big screen, but had it shown at my local theater, I'd have skipped it. The acting wasn't bad, but the storyline was weak. There just wasn't enough to be thrilled about.
In the case of this movie, versus the video game, I'd have been better off watching the game...
are the life source of Indie Authors the tool that creates Best Sellers! I know I do not have that much power, but I can sure add to it!
