I am so excited. I began the year totally all about standing independent, and on my own two feet. Then I quickly realized that I have too tart on the bottom- the top's too high for what I'm doing. So I changed the plan, flipped the script and I'm still standing on my own two feet, I just have some help. What did I do, you ask?
*I started out with a plan, pushed to implement and found I like what I'm doing...
But the adventure is real.
Welcome to Twenty-Eighteen !
According to the RED I find in my edited documents, I'm doing so much better as an author! I used to second guess everything I did when it came to my stories, but always went with Option #2. I stopped that and now I'm listening. To me first, then my editor and betas. It's been amazing and I've released TWO books (short stories) in one month! Can you believe it?
I know I can't either!
But it's there- on this website. I am so freaking proud.
This is incredible, isn't it?
It was very merry...
I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! Lots of smiles, laughter, gifts, and an over-whelming sense of peace for the near year.
I watched the news this morning (depressing, I know), and saw many people didn't receive a joyous holiday. From house fires to a son being shot while walking down the street- so much pain in the world. This is why I always retreat into the world of fiction. I just don't like being washed over by the negativity. Thankfully, I received some awesome gifts to battle against the ugliness that can easily be seen with the push of a remote button...
My getaway to Blue Ridge Mountains was absolutely amazing! This place was more than I could have asked for during the Thanksgiving holiday. With no cleaning or cooking, I managed to not only relax and catch a cold, but I started and finished a short story, inspired by this location and my amazing husband- who gets killed in the story!
It's not really about him, but the namesake's there.
Using NaNoWriMo 2017 to finally get my novel together!
2017 has been an amazing year for me! I've lost a lot of weight, started an amazing novel back in January, got in a month's worth of world travel, and started teaching 8th grade! Yes, I've been busy indeed. I also got sick, started a few home projects that went south and moved my daughter and woks to Alabama. In case you didn't notice, those are my negatives. BUT most of all, concerning my fav hobby- I'm working on my first, up & coming Indie Novel: The Malignant Soul!
Wow; I can't believe I've filled every slot for the rest of 2017 already! Anything I add to this year is supplementary now; that's what I love about what I do most!
I'm on my own schedule now. No obligations, no pressing deadlines and reading what I want more so than what's on The List, you know? So what am I currently reading? I'm mostly in to what to do with my website in 2018. Design and what catches another reader's eye stuff like that. But honestly, I'm reading horror.
I love audiobooks!
Whenever I'm on the go, working out, driving or just relaxing in a steaming soak in the tub, I like listening to books. I have two audiobook libraries: one for iBooks and the other Audible. I remember when I first became an Apple Head; there was nothing I didn't that didn't have an "i" before it, but something happened when it comes to the life of an audiobook listener. For me, it was for the better...
Can you believe it? My time has arrived. This weekend, I will be leaving most of you and joining others! I wish I was just going, so I could take the time to meet so many of you in London, Ireland and so forth. There's nothing I'd love more than time to socialize with the ones I've shared a bulk of my life with, but not this go-round. One day though! So what have I to share before leaving my home country for the one I wished I'd been born?

Happy New Year, friends! I am so happy you're still with me! As you can see, I've made many changes and I want you to feel at home.
This year, if there's anything you wish to ask me, here's where I'll answer. I'll share with you all I have to share, my experiences, hopes and goals, accomplishments and of course, my failures.
Let's do this year together. Cheers!
My name's Alyssa and I'm just like you. Within me are stories, looking to be told. I do my best to relay them to the public, as magically as possible.
