I love audiobooks!
Whenever I'm on the go, working out, driving or just relaxing in a steaming soak in the tub, I like listening to books. I have two audiobook libraries: one for iBooks and the other Audible. I remember when I first became an Apple Head; there was nothing I didn't that didn't have an "i" before it, but something happened when it comes to the life of an audiobook listener. For me, it was for the better...
So let me first say that I am still an Apple-Head. Just about everything I have that's electronic is Apple/Mac. I love them, but I do have to say that when it comes to a few particulars, I have to go where I am able to stand most comfortable. Being a single-income family, my husband appreciates the deals I manage to find. With that being said, I'll dive right into the pro's and con's.
The library is vast, quick downloads and sounds amazing from my iPhone or device.
The books are a little high, there's rarely a sale. You can't bookmark where you last listened and when you back out of the book, you better remember where you were and the chapter... or you'll have to start over. OR seek out where you last where in the book.
The library is vast, quick downloads in two options (book in one size or broken into halves so faster downloads. Sounds amazing on my iPhone or device, your sections can be bookmarked, the ability to control speed, location, and timers and clips. Cheaper with many sales for credits and if you join their membership, you get awesome deals Plus, when you buy credits in bulk (books cost 1 credit, unless exceptionally large) the cost goes down to near $10 a piece! That's awesome! Oh, you get freebies as well, and they aren't all classics. The final Fabulous feature- if you don't like the book, you can return/exchange it for your credit towards a different book!
Seriously, I don't have any!
So there you have it, from my side of the green grass. Both are good with providing quality sound and transfer when using devices, and they have many to choose from. But the competition isn't much, if you ask me. This is one time where I have to say, the Apple doesn't have it. When it comes to listening to a book, Audible is the winner, hands down.
What do you think? Do you use them or another app altogether? Hit me up, while I move on to the next listen...
Who Am I?
My name's Alyssa and I'm just like you. Within me are stories, looking to be told. I do my best to relay them to the public, as magically as possible.
