Have I ever mentioned how much I love Mark Tufo? If I haven't, I'll just say it now: I love Mark Tufo's writing! His books are adventurous, humorous, and very bloody. There's not a time or two where I go back to his work, just to re-read.
A handful of years ago, I'd listened to book one of the Lycan Fallout series. It was awesome but the rest hadn't been written. So when I was adding audiobooks to my Audible library, I noticed the series went from one to four. I had to have them. So where we go, with not one review but four...
An apocalyptic thriller
I don't remember where I originally saw the trailer for this movie, but when it popped up on my Interests list, I knew I had to see it. The amazing views - remember the running bison - and idea of being in this situation (NO SPOILERS) simply blew my mind. So, did Skybound fly me off my seat?,
A novel by Marissa Meyer
I must admit, I am a true Lunar Chronicles lover. When I began that series, I was doubtful, but fell in love with the book covers so much I had to read them. By the time I finished, I was so caught up- it became my favorite YA series. I could read and listen to them again and again. When I heard about Renegades, I was skeptical. I actually wanted to like the story, but not. That make any sense?
A Novel by Jane Harper
When I received this book, I was thrilled. It came in a small rucksack, bearing the book's title. Inside was a water bottle, the book, bookmarks, a small flashlight and a tasty bag of trail mix. It was so good, and honestly I ate them long before I read the book! LOL So was the book as good as the book swag?
A short story from a book of shorts by Timothy Tocher
Everyone's got a new twist on an old tale these days. I've read at least four different retellings, each one a creative reproduction. Little Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood is one of them. Written by Timothy Tocher, it plants a new spin on the story about a little girl traipsing through the woods to deliver food to her dear, old granny.
I found this one very funny. What would have made it better? Some amazing illustrations! Don't get me wrong, this isn't a version for little Suzie Q and Tommy, but it's not rude, vulgar or nasty. It's good, clean fun that anyone can enjoy. It just would have been better with pics! lol
Newfangled Fairy Tales
A Netflix Original Movie
The beginning of this movie put me in a bad way. I was so upset at what happened, I had to text my daughter fussing about it. But I love when a story does that to me too. I get invested. The Ritual is a story about some plain bad luck, an opportunity for action, forgiveness and then some even worse luck.
