There are stories that offer remarkable, respectable twists. Other's twist your mind within the story, placing (the reader) dead center of some of the strangest, weirdest and most scandalous situations imagined! And all you can do is turn a page, tsk tsk tsk and roll onward with a devious grin on your face. That's what I did with Less Sugar, More Honey: A Sister Story by Jay Lee.
Oh my goodness...
Every. now and then I read books that create a vortex of insane drama. The tell me that my life is extremely boring and evidently I am poor. They name drop clothing and vehicular lines that make my Ford Escape look like Pinto and my house a shed! Ugh... I thought I was doing good.
In Less Sugar, More Honey: A Sister Story, a set of sisters and a bestie close enough to be considered a sister go through some things. They have men who can whisk them away on trips that carry them through Dubai, Hawaii and even further out. They wear clothing names I've never heard of and shoes that should more like Chinese food than items to wear. (Except Nikes! LOL) Anyway, every family has skeletons- these are just a bit fresh.
Celeste is the friend but Daria and Gianna are the ones who carry the bulk of the internal issues. It's good though because once it all ends, it ends with a bang! I can admit, I didn't see the ending coming. I didn't see half of what happened in this book to happen and it's only 109 pages long! I was like, "Ewww!" and "Dang- for real?" and many other surprising shout outs. This book is unreal, but I read it quickly. I'd have finished it in a day if I didn't teach!
If you're looking for a story that will put you in the middle of some raunchy situations, lots of cursing during dramatic events that will have you either laughing or "Oooing", this is your book. Check out Less Sugar, More Honey while I move on to the next read. Cheers!
