*A novel by T. Greenwood
There are novels that captivate and enrapture you while you read. There are other books that grip you in a fist so rooted in fear, you can not look away from the pages, encapsulating you in a terror so great, all you do is cry and read and cry even more. That is Rust and Stardust, by T. Greenwood.
You have to understand, this book isn't simply a story, created from the fantasies and machinations of a great mind. No, Rust & Stardust is fiction and non-fiction combined. It's truth and imagionation, taken straight from the headlines!
Rust & Stardust is the telling of Florence "Sally" Horner. Taken on the way home from school by a man claiming to be FBI, she's thrown into a world where innocence is lost. Where sadness and depression and imagination are her only friends. Yet, there's so much more, both dark and light. There are people she meets and lives she touches that matter. That help. That eventually save her, but to what avail?
This book embodies every parent's nightmare. Shared with you are the POV's of many involved, so you know the pain and interests of them all. What grabs you most is little Sally. It's a story I never imagined reading, but thanks to being on the list of the right publisher, I received this book in advance. Sadly, I didn't get to read it till July and August. It's a spectacular book and you will not want to put it down.
I found myself looking up the images described inthe story. When Sally was on the swing, the newspaper clipping showing Sally and her capture. Even the one of her on the phone, with nobody there... It's so real- because it was real! There's also a bit of information in the Author's Notes, at the end of the book that shares more. You have to read from cover to cover. Seriously!
This is one for the ages.
I'm off to the next read. Cheers!
