When I made my TBR List, I somehow read this book but never scheduled the review for this book.  It's a exciting NA read. The story is mild enough to not frighten off readers, innocent for a YA reader with only one scene that truly makes it an NA novel and clean enough, mostly due to the subject matter to allow one to walk away relieved and happy with the ending.

Lee Ann Ward, the fiction author of There in the Moon Mist, is an award winner and has a background in journalism and mass communications.  She's an editor and publisher too!  Wow!  She's definitely knows how to acquaint a reader with an unexpected adventure.

'She often imagined the sky as a guardian, with Dad in it, watching only her.  There in the moon mist, she was safe- free from the reverend, from the rules, from the cult.'

There in the Moon Mist is about Lacy and her need for  independence.  She's not fickle and easy to manipulate like the other residents of her communal home, The Way- a religious cult.  Even her mother is weak minded by the chicanery of Reverend Way.  How will she ever escape the beatings, rapes and supposed divinely arranged marriages?  She craves libration, but can she leave her only family behind...

I read this book over the weekend and was wondering how I'd walk away from it.  Happily, I can say it was a pleasant read.  It held my interest, even with a lead character who's weak constitutions managed to be stronger than those much weaker than her!  I can't explain that statement to you without giving away SPOILERS!  What I can say is that the story is mesmerizing.  I thought I'd grow tired of it, mostly because I've always been strong-willed and could never see myself in a situation like the one Lacy found herself in.  BUT I couldn't put it down unless I had too!  I finished it over the weekend as planned and can honestly say, it was a good read.  The ending was pretty fast, but it didn't hurt the tale.  It worked.

There in the Moon Mist is a book for NA's and up- only because of one innocent love scene.  it's not detailed or inappropriate.  It's actually sweet and as I stated, innocent.  Lee Ann Ward is a gifted author for this genre and I'm sure I'll read more by her in the future!📚
